About Us

In 2005, Terry Kast opened The Celtic Ranch in historic Weston, just 40 minutes from downtown Kansas City.
Inspired by the rich beauty of Celtic and Irish history with a rustic twist of backroad country, the Celtic Ranch started with traditional Grandfather collarless shirts. Becoming an instant success, the Celtic Ranchwear collection was born!
Soon the brand expanded with men’s vests to complement the shirts and a women’s line was added with Tartan pocket skirts and accessories. The collection continued to grow with new styles of Grandfather shirts, women’s wool blend jackets and henley shirts, men’s shackets and Hawaiian shirts, and more.
But wait… the fun doesn’t stop there! Don’t forget to head to the back of the shop to explore The Whiskey Snug! The Snug made its debut in early 2018 with just a small collection of Irish whiskies. The second level, dubbed the “Upper Snug,” was added later that fall as more space was needed for the ever-growing collection of whiskies.
With over 1,100 whiskeys by the bottle and by the pour, you can shop our impressive collection of domestic and international whiskies, featuring popular and hard-to-find Irish, Scotch, bourbon, rye whiskies, and more. Whiskey lovers and connoisseurs can enjoy a pour or flight from our premium selection of whiskies, sip classic whiskey cocktails, or drink a proper Guinness. You are not just stepping into a whiskey lounge… you’re entering into a spirit-filled experience!

In the summer of 2023, the Celtic Ranch and Whiskey Snug baton was passed on to Terry’s two aspiring managers, Cara Welliver and Renz Pros. The duo is excited to continue on the legacy of Terry and carry on her love for all things Ireland and whiskey! But don’t worry, Terry will pop in every once in a while to say hello, usually accompanied by her beloved and wooly Irish Water Spaniel dogs, Paddy and Erin.

Next time you’re in Weston, Missouri, stop in to see the Celtic Ranch and Whiskey Snug team. Open seven days a week, you can discover even more about what’s to love about this little shop on the street. As Terry always says, “When you feed your spirit, things around you will grow.” Sláinte!
